Eight harmed in pile-up on renouned Italian tramline

The dual trams crashed head-on along around Commerciale on a breathtaking Trieste-Opicina tramline, a network that includes a funicular, Corriere reported.

Serious injuries were avoided since a trams were on high widen of line and so were travelling slowly.

Police are questioning a means while authorities have launched an inner inquiry, with Trieste mayor Roberto Dipiazza observant a pile-up was “unacceptable”. 

The tramway, that links Piazza Oberdan, in a city centre, with Villa Opicina, a tiny city in a hills, is one of a Friuli Venezia Giulia city’s categorical traveller attractions.
