Suicide Squad executive shrugs off film’s disastrous reviews

The executive of comic book film Suicide Squad has shrugged off a bad reviews, observant he “made it for a fans”.

“I adore a film and trust in it,” David Ayer wrote on Twitter, job it a “best knowledge of my life”.

Several critics have slammed a movie, with Screen Daily bashing a “mediocre storytelling… faith on pale CGI and artificial stylistic flourishes”.

Critic Peter Bradshaw, however, was not alone in wishing it had “more fun and some-more levity of touch”.

“Suicide Squad assembles an all-star group of supervillains and afterwards doesn’t know what to do with them,” Todd McCarthy pronounced in The Hollywood Reporter.

Digital Spy’s Rosie Fletcher, meanwhile, pronounced a film was “boring and unfunny“, facilities “bland fights and shootouts” and is “not really good”.

Leto ‘unsettling’ as Joker

Jared Leto’s opening as The Joker – a purpose formerly played on film by Jack Nicholson and a late Heath Ledger – got many of what regard a film has received.

According to Variety, a Oscar-winning actor “manage[s] to invent a chronicle of a Joker each bit as unsettling as… Ledger’s imperishable incarnation”.

Rolling Stone’s Peter Travers, though, echoed a series of other critics’ complaints in describing Leto’s opening as “a saved walk-on“.

Suicide Squad, that has a European premiere in London on Wednesday, now has a 35% rating on reviews aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes.
